We're so happy we were able to give new life to wood that's over 100 years old, and that so much of the house is handcrafted. Every room feels comfortable and functional, supporting the everyday rituals that bring us joy.
Designed as a weekend retreat, this home invites its owners to slow down and spend quality time with family and friends.
The story begins with reclaimed wood from the the owners’ grandparents’ 100-year-old barn. It became the starting point for the entire project, carefully transformed into bespoke furniture, shelving, doors, wall cladding, and many other handcrafted pieces. Exposed brick, steel, natural stone, linen, and hand-felted wool complement the timber, contributing to the home’s warm, authentic, and timeless character.
Almost every custom-made element was designed specifically for this project, from the pipe-frame canopy bed and the window seat to the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, sliding doors, and shelving throughout the house. Several lighting fixtures were also handcrafted, while a geodesic wooden pavilion was carefully selected to complete the garden.
Although the design process began with a handful of reference images, the project never followed a predefined style. Instead, the home’s identity emerged naturally through the chosen materials and the moments its owners imagined unfolding here.
